What “open” means
Open is an EONET curation lifecycle status: the record does not have a closing date. It is not an emergency declaration, warning, evacuation notice, or proof that conditions persist throughout a mapped area.
How to read this
Fact: names, categories, geometry dates and linked sources come from NASA EONET. Limit: the latest supplied geometry may be a reference point rather than the event footprint. The feed is capped at 500 records; hitting that cap means this view may be incomplete. No risk, exposure, forecast, damage or safety score is calculated.
