Display choice
One color for every qualifying value
USGS defines parameter 00045 as total precipitation in inches but supplies no universal accumulation time basis in the parameter definition. A single color avoids implying that values are comparable storm totals, daily totals, rates, intensities, or hazard thresholds.
How to read this
Fact: each marker is a recent precipitation value reported by a USGS stream site in inches. The popup preserves its time-series ID, observation time, reported unit, statistic ID when supplied, and approval status. Limit: the parameter definition provides no universal accumulation time basis, and different time series can use different methods or reporting intervals. Treat each value only as the value reported for that series. The map infers no storm total, daily total, rate, intensity, forecast, flood condition, trend, cause, exposure, damage, safety, or compliance.

USGS modern Water Data OGC API, latest-continuous, parameter 00045. Requests are anonymous, keyless, limited to stream sites in the visible bounding box and preceding 48 hours, capped at 500 features, and protected by a 60-second client cooldown. Missing, nonnumeric, negative, nonpoint, or older records are excluded. Reported statistic IDs are preserved when present. No credential, proxy, saved measurement snapshot, or proprietary GIS service is used. Source/license notes · USGS API documentation
